A. Face Brick
Face brick shall be (color name) waterstruck as manufactured by Vermont Brick Manufacturing, Highgate Center, Vermont, 802-868-5354. (size), minimum compressive strength of 15,000 psi, cold water absorption maximum 5% conforming to ASTM C216, Grade SW, Type FBA, as selected and approved by the architect/engineer.
Do not exceed variations in color and texture of samples selected and approved by the architect/engineer.
B. Special Brick Shapes
Special brick shapes as indicated per drawings #___ shall be approved by the manufacturer, distributor, general contractor, and architect for all dimensions and designated faces.
C. Mortar
Mortar shall be Type S. It shall consist of 1 part by volume Type I Portland Cement, 1/4 to 1/2 part by volume hydrated lime, not less than 2 1/4 and not more than 3 times of the sum of the volumes of cement and lime used.
D. Cleaning
Cleaning shall be as per specification in BIA Technical Notes #20 and #14.
E. Mockup
Construct a 4' x 4' sample mock up panel on site to be viewed at a distance of 20 feet for final approval by the architect/engineer

to ASTM C902, Class SX, Type I, PA, as selected and approved by the architect/engineer.
Do not exceed variations in color and texture of samples selected and approved by the architect/engineer.
B. Mockup
Construct a 4' x 4' sample mock up panel
on site to be viewed for final approval by
the architect/engineer.
